What to expect after a thorough bed bug heat treatment

Fast forward to the present day, about six weeks from her move-in. My sister-in-law’s son started complaining of “ticks” in his bedroom. She bathes and grooms their two small dogs... and finds no fleas or ticks on them. Nothing. They don’t find any of these “ticks” anywhere else in the house.

She called her landlord who informed her that because “he had sprayed for bed bugs prior to their moving in” the insects were her problem, and that she should visit the local bed bug store. (Yes, they really exist in some parts of the world!) My wife called me and said I needed to call my sister-in-law. Immediately.

My sister-in-law picked up the phone and in a panic shared her story. Unfortunately, it was nothing new and almost indistinguishable from all the other bed bug nightmares I’ve heard over the years.
